Configuring ScanMail for Exchange (SMEX) 7.0 and 8.0 to block emails with blank subject headers

Problem: | This solution provides the procedure for creating a content filter rule that blocks emails with blank subject headers. |
|
| Solution: | Do the following: 1. | Open the SMEX management console and go to Content Filtering. |
|
| 2. | Click Add > Filter messages that match any condition defined > Next. |
|
| 3. | Type a rule name and select the Subject check box. |
|
| 4. | Click Next and select Any specified keywords from the Match field. |
|
| 5. | Type .REG. ^[\s]*$ in Enter keyword(s) and click Add. |
|
|
| Do not select the Match case-sensitive and Match synonym check boxes. |
|
| 6. | Click Next
and select the action (Delete, Quarantine, etc.) that SMEX will take on
messages that match all the criteria of the new content filter rule. |
|
| 7. | Configure the applicable settings for People to Notify and Advanced Notification. |
|
| 8. | Click Finish. |
