First things first - The IPhone is 100% compatible with MS-Exchage Server,but there are some setting the exchange server needs in order to make it work.

1 - Make sure that Outlook Web Access is enabled

2 - Also IMAP in exchange must be enabled too.

3 - also RPC over http must be enabled too.

Iphone does not need the Exchange Certificate in order to authenticate. This is a big advantage over the other phones like Blackberry,Treo., etc.

Now to the Phone

1 - press the mail icon

2 - press in Others

3 - select the exchange button

4 - Type you name and last name

5 - type your email address

6 - In the incoming server depending on how your outlook in your working area is setup
a- if you use outlook web access your must be exchange.domain.com
b - if not you must use the address used for rpc over http

** make sure not to use http or https this will cause an error in the iphone

7 - type your user name for you exchange account

8 - type your password

9 - At the smtp box you must use the exact name for your incoming server

10- leave the user and password blank

** IF a user name or password is typed in the smtp box the iphone would not connect to the exchange server

save it and your iphone is ready to receive emails from your workplace. This makes the Iphone a big competitor for the other phones since is a lot easier to configure
